Backpack Journalism is much more different then regular film. There is not a lot of pre-planning involved before filming backpack journalism. There is no need to make a story board because you don't know the story of the actor will have. However, thinking about different questions that are general will help, such as; What are you doing? what are you going to do?
In this backpack journalism I filmed Diego who hasn't played with legos since he was a child, and even as a child he didn't have many to play with. Along with a regular video backpack journalism still has to tell a story. The theme on this day helped tell the story of Diego who was struggling to build legos because of the lack of building them as a child.
It was very different writing a script for voiceovers that tells a story. In the future some good advise to use is making each voice over as short as possible but still gets to the point. Backpack journalism is also filmed without a tripod, so when filming it is necessary to hold the camera as still as possible, so the movement doesn't distract the viewer. Backpack journalism definitely opened my eyes on how to tell a good story while getting to the point quickly.
